About the District

The Lawrence County Ambulance District is a public ambulance district serving Lawrence County in southwest Missouri. Emergency medical care in the county is delivered through a partnership: Mercy provides the medical care — the paramedics, EMTs, and clinical services that respond when you call — while the District provides the ambulances, equipment, and buildings that make that response possible.

This partnership lets each organization do what it does best. The District, governed by a locally elected Board of Directors, is responsible for purchasing and maintaining the vehicles and facilities, budgeting, and long‑term planning for the county's EMS infrastructure. Residents are welcome to contact the District office with questions about the District, its facilities, or board business.
